CIRPET is the Research Centre on Emerging and Transition Countries of the Department of Economics-University of Turin. It was founded in 2001 by members of three departments: Economics, Political Studies and Social Sciences. Prof. Giovanni Balcet is the Director of CIRPET, Mr. Marco Ranieri is its Coordinator. CIRPET carryes out economic,
as well socio-political, researches and analysis for Institutions
and foreign investors, regarding the followings geographical areas: For each Research Project a professional team is formed, composed by Professors, young fellow researchers and graduating students. CIRPET organizes field-researches in the target countries aimed to meet local institutions and entrepreneurs, international organizations and foreign investors. All collaborators of CIRPET know, beside the most common languages, at least one of the local languages of the target areas. For its researches, CIRPET cooperates with more than 20 freelance scholars and experts in the fields of Economics, Politics and International Relations. Due to its "network structure" and the continuous contact with Associations, Research Centres and Universities all over the world, CIRPET is a dinamic, flexible and trustable think tank.
